¡THE WARRIORS
¡Movie

 Description
Regular priced edition. The 1979 Walter Hill film is a true action classic. The Warriors are mistakenly accused of killing Cyrus, the charismatic leader of the Gramercy Riffs, one of the most powerful New York street gangs. Soon, every gang in the city is after their hide, and they have to fight their way home to their turf in Coney Island from one end of New York to the other. Like Hill's later outing 'Streets of Fire' which he calls a "Rock & Roll Fable", The Warriors looks like a fantasy action film as opposed to a realistic one, especially viewed now since the street gangs today look nothing like the Warriors, or Baseball Furies who look more like characters from futuristic cyberpunk novels. Michael Beck is excellent as the leader of the Warriors, and David "Warriors, come out to play-aay" Patrick Kelly is properly psychotic as Luther the real killer, and allow me to mention that James Remar who played Ajax, the "bad boy" among the Warriors, has been my no.1 fave actor ever since I saw him in this and Hill's '48 Hrs.' where he played the psychotic villain named Albert Ganz, the nemesis of Nick Nolte and Eddy Murphy.
