Description
Eddie Murphy's first work with director John Landis ("The Blues Brothers") is easily their best. The classic comedy gives a modern twist to "The Prince and the Pauper" with Murphy playing the pauper-turned-prince role, and co-star Dan Aykroyd in the prince-turned-pauper role. The late Denholm Elliott and Jamie Lee Curtis co-star, with the late great gents Don Ameche and Ralph Bellamy as the Duke Brothers, a pair of old scheming geezers who make a bet that turn Murphy and Aykroyd's lives upside down. Frank Oz and Jim Belushi do cameos, and I remember the first time I saw this film, the outcome of Paul Gleason's smutty character made my stomach hurt with a laughing fit.
