Kaoru, a 30-year-old serious saleswoman for a real estate company, recalls an exciting summer vacation she spent with Yoko 20 years ago. At the beginning of her 4th grade summer vacation, her mother, who had been constantly quarreling with her father, left home. A few days later, Yoko suddenly arrived at Kaoru's house. She was a big-hearted person in contrast to her nervous mother, and Kaoru, who had the earnestness of an eldest daughter, was constantly surprised by her. However, Yoko did not treat Kaoru like a child, but rather, she sharply recognized Kaoru's strong points and even said "I respect you" in a casual and serious manner.
