¡Four Elements Vol.2: Fire
¡Yu Kosuge (piano)

 Description
[Machine Translation] Pianist Masaru Kosuge has been working on a concert series ("Four Elements": Water, Fire, Wind, and Earth) since 2007. In her first CD, "Water," which has already been released to great acclaim, she depicted the various forms of "water," which transforms freely and penetrates into people's emotions, and in her second CD, she has again breathed life into a variety of works on the theme of "fire. Fire is first associated with the mythological Prometheus, who, without regard to the gods, stole fire and shared it with mankind. Kosuge takes up Liszt's symphonic poem "Prometheus" (piano arrangement by L. Starck) and fully expresses the wrath of God against Prometheus. Another highlight of this album is that it mainly contains music written during World War I. While grounded in the anxieties and emotions of the people of this period, the music depicts the divinity and demonic nature of fire, and depicts "fire (warfare)" through sound with bold emotional expression. In the excerpt from Stravinsky's "The Firebird" at the end, you will feel a huge fire with sound that seems to lick all the earth and the sky.
