¡Diary
¡Fumi Hayakawa

 Description
[Machine Translation] This is the second album by Fumi Hayakawa, a saxophonist active mainly in Nagoya. The recording members are Kotaro Hiramitsu (P), Yukito Shimizu (Gt), Hideki Hasegawa (B), and Hiro Omori (Ds), all of whom are active on the front lines. This is a session recording session with Nagoya's generation of talented musicians. The album is an ambitious one, with six of the seven songs being original compositions. The album begins with "Diary," a diary, and "Saturdays," a fast swing song about the desire to travel, has the feel of an original jazz number from the '90s. The jazz waltz "XIX (Ninteen)" is named after a restaurant on the 19th floor overlooking the city. The concert continues with other unique numbers and closes with "June 15" on a gloomy, rainy day. The supporting members' excellent performances are also a must-listen. This is a work in which Hayakawa himself faced his own music while exploring the expression of the alto saxophone. It shines supremely beautifully.
