¡Kiso
¡Akira Miyazawa Quartet
Description
[Machine Translation] Kiso", "Asama", "Hakuba", and "Hida". He recalls the original landscapes and painstakingly weaves the images and emotions into his music. Released in 1970 as one of the Victor "Jazz in Japan" series, this work is the ultimate achievement of Akira Miyazawa. We are Japanese, so I think we have to make something that only Japanese can do. These were the words of Akira Miyazawa during this period. When Miyazawa wanted to create a work that only a Japanese person could do, it was inevitable that he would choose his hometown as the motif. For Miyazawa, who was born in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, and who was familiar with fishing, "Kiso," "Asama," "Hakuba," and "Hida" are his very original landscapes. Takeo Moriyama's raging drums, Yasuo Arakawa's rich bass, Masahiko Sato's spilling piano, and Miyazawa's saxophone, which seems to be a sound block of emotion. Miyazawa's music is a mixture of nostalgia and praise for the land where he was born and raised, as well as longing and awe for Mother Nature. Miyazawa looks into his own roots and weaves his thoughts and images into his music with sincerity and care. text by Yusuke Ogawa ( UNIVERSOUNDS / DEEP JAZZ REALITY ).
