¡ERIC JOHNSON / MIKE STERN
Description
[Machine Translation] Heads Up is proud to present the first album by the twin-unit unit of Mike Stern, the No. 1 fusion guitarist of our time, and Eric Johnson, a guitar-oriented rock nobleman. Backed by Anton Fig on drums (James Brown, Miles Davis, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder) and Chris Maresh on bass, the two guitarists' original compositions and a cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Red House "Red House" cover. Stern also performed vocals for the first time on this song. Stern's wife Leni Stern, soul singer Malford Milligan, Christopher Cross, and Guy Forsyth also guested on the album, which included a tribute to Johnson's guitar hero Wes Montgomery and Stern's coltrane patterns. Stern says, "This album is a great tribute to Johnson's guitar hero, Wes Montgomery, and also features Stern's coltrane patterns, as well as a wide range of pop and funk. Stern says, "We recorded this album in the studio, but it was almost a one-shot live recording, and it has all the music and energy that we have. This is the kind of quality we were looking for. Stern was attracted to jazz at the age of 17, and although he is a jazz guitarist, his roots are in rock, blues, Motown, etc. Johnson's priority is not jazz, but Wes Montgomery is his favorite guitarist, so they have a lot in common. They had a lot of fun working together on this project. They also gained a lot from each other's guitar techniques. This is truly a dream guitar album and a must-listen for guitar fans!
