¡Childhood Home[Import Disc]
¡Ben & Ellen Harper

 Description
[Machine Translation] This latest album is the follow-up to his last album, "GET UP!", which won a Grammy Award for Best Blues last year! A collaboration with Ellen Harper, multi-instrumentalist and mother of one of his greatest musical influences! Ben Harper wrote 6 songs and his mother Ellen wrote 4 songs for this very personal album of 10 songs. Deeply reflecting the roots of Harper's father and son, the music is an American blend of soul, Californian, and folk-rock, with guitar, banjo, and tabla mixed in. Ellen Harper's parents founded the Folk Music Center/Musium in California, and Ellen, who took over the management, allowed Ben to use the facility as a music study room. Ry Cooper, David Lindley, and Taj Mahal visited and gave classes there, and Ben learned lessons directly from top musicians. Ben's mother, who was also a member of the band, was a constant source of musical inspiration for him.
