 Description
[Machine Translation] Eric Clapton's 21st album and first new album in 3 years is a cover album including 2 new original songs! The album also features Paul McCartney and other musicians who have participated in the album. This is the first new album in three years since "Clapton" (2010), which marked the 40th anniversary of his solo debut. Clapton's new album is released on his own "Bushbranch" label and released through Polydor outside of North America, and is the first album to be released on his own label since his collaboration with J.J. Cale on "The Road to Escondido" (2006). After his collaboration with J.J. Cale on "The Road to Escondido" (2006) and the jazz covers album "Clapton" (2010), this album features "Clapton's Greatest Songs", a selection of his personal favorites from his childhood! J.J. Cale, Gary Moore, Redbury, Peter Tosh, George Gershwin, Hank Snow, Taj Mahal, and many others, from 1930's musical numbers and blues/country classics to soul, reggae, rock, and many other genres. The songs are covered with the Clapton feeling! Expectations are high for Clapton, who has shown his great sense of style in the past with his cover of Bob Marley's "I Shot the Sheriff" and numerous blues numbers. This long-awaited new album, a return to his roots and a fresh start, has already got fans all over the world buzzing! In addition to Eric Clapton, the album was produced by Justin Stanley, who has participated since his last album "Clapton" (2010), and Simon Climie, who has participated since "Back Home" (2005). The side musicians include Steve, Justin Stanley, and Simon Climie. The three side musicians are Steve Gadd (drums), Willie Weeks (bass), and Chris Stainton (keyboards), all of whom are familiar with Clapton's albums. The notable guest musicians include Paul McCartney (bass & vocals: #6), who performed with Clapton on his 2012 album "Kiss on the Bottom," 80's disco queen Chaka Khan (back vocals: #4), and the second guest on Clapton's previous album (2010), J.J. Cale (back-up vocals & guitar: #2), Steve Winwood (Hammond B3 organ: #8), and Jim Keltner (drums: #12), all of whom have participated on this album. The album includes two new original songs, "Gotta Get Over" (#4) and "Every Little Thing" (#11).
