In the midst of all this, his long-awaited new album will be released. This is his 18th album of original music after 8 years since "Dear Heather" in 2004. The album was produced by his son, Patrick Leonard, a renowned producer who has worked with numerous artists. Other members include Anjani Thomas, Ed Sanders, and Dino Sordo, all of whom are well-known to the public. He wrote all the lyrics and five of the songs. The remaining four songs were written by Patrick and one by Anjani. All songs are newly written. As in past works, the theme of love, sexuality, loss, and death are explored in this profoundly poetic world. Backing vocals are provided by Jennifer Woons, Dana Glover, Sharon Robinson, and others. It is a wonderful album that will become one of his masterpieces. The artwork (jacket and illustrations) were also done by Cohen himself.
