¡REVERIE[Import Disc]
¡JOE HENRY
Description
[Machine Translation] The long-awaited latest Joe Henry album! Joe Henry has been producing for Elvis Costello, Aimee Mann, and Madonna, and won a Grammy Award for producing the late Solomon Burke ( 2002 ). Influenced by Alan Toussaint and Ramblin' Jack Elliott, he is an avant-garde musician who has abandoned his "urban" and "sophisticated" image and has taken on the challenge of playing the blues. This is his 12th album in two years, and his fourth since moving to the ANTI label in 2002, and he has created a sense of his own world, freely incorporating a wide range of styles from rock, country, folk, jazz, and soul. This album, titled "Reverie," was self-produced, as on the previous album, in his own studio, with his band, and with his friends Mark Ribeau (guitar), Patrick Warren (organ), Gene McLain, and Lisa Hannigan (singer). The album was recorded in a very personal environment with his allies. As the title suggests, this is a fantastical album for Joe Henry fans. A key figure not to be missed, as well as Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Randy Newman, and others. Check it out.
