¡Lost Not Forgotten Archives: The Making Of Falling Into Infinity (1997)[Import Disc]
¡Dream Theater

 Description
[Machine Translation] Dream Theater, which announced its first solo tour in Japan in five and a half years, has been periodically releasing its treasured live, demo, and studio outtakes as official bootlegs in the "Lost Not Forgotten Archives" series. The 19th volume in the series is a making-of archive documenting the recording process of the band's 4th album, "Falling Into Infinity", released in 1997. The road to the completion of this album was a whirlwind of episodes, including differences of opinion with the label regarding production policy and producer selection, the repeated deaths of band members' relatives, and the birth of new life. The band finally arrived at a recording studio, where they recorded the music in vivid detail. Produced by Kevin Shirley (Aerosmith, Journey, Iron Maiden, etc.), the album is a refreshing change from the dark and heavy aggressive style of the previous album, "Awake," with a rich variety of songs with a pop sensibility. This is a new album. The making-of soundtrack was distributed to fan club members at Christmas 1997, when the album was released, and was later released in 2009 as a limited production on the band's own Ytsejam Records label.
