Of the 13 songs recorded between January 1968 and February 1970, 10 are previously unreleased. Most of the songs were recorded by Jimi Hendrix (G & Vo), Billy Cox (B), and Buddy Miles (Ds), who later became known as the "Band of Gypsies," but some of the songs were recorded by Mitch Mitchell (Ds) and Noel Redding (Ds). All of Jimi Hendrix's audio/visual products released after 1996 are available. The album was produced by Jayne Hendricks, John McDermott, and Eddie Kramer, who have worked on all of Jimi Hendrix's audio/visual products released since 1996.
