 Description
[Machine Translation] Yale and Bach interweave counterpoint? Yale's Nicholas Godin has created a sublime, ambient sound inspired by Glenn Gould and Bach. His first solo album "COUNTREPOINT", completed with guest artists such as Gordon Trucks and Conan Moccasin, has now been unveiled. The French electro-pop duo Yale has a strong fan base here in Japan. Nicolas Godin will release his solo album "COUNTREPOINT" on Because Music. He has released seven studio albums as Yale, but this is his first solo album. Nicolas worked on this album with Vincent Taurelle, a keyboardist and Bach specialist who has also worked at Yale, and Studio de l'Atlas, Yale's studio in Paris. Eight pieces were completed by taking parts of Bach's score and creating new parts. Each piece is based on a piece of Bach's music. The recording of the music was done by Gordon Trucks (an alias of Thomas Mars of Phoenix), Brazilian singer Marcelo Camelo, Italian writer Alessandro Barrico, and Charlotte Gainsbourg's band, Conan Moca, who has also worked with Conan Moccasin, who also plays in Charlotte Gainsbourg's band, as well as the chorus of the Macedonian F.A.M.E. project.
