Recorded not only in Belgium, but also in London, Jamaica, and Los Angeles, she worked with two "in season" producers, Dane Robin Hannibal (known for his work with Little Dragon and Kendrick Lamar) and Cera Sue. She has teamed up with Swedish producer Ludwig Goransson, known for his work with Haim and Childish Gambino. She and Ludwig Goransson also co-wrote "Together," her first love song, together in Los Angeles. For the trip-hop "Fear Nothing," she teamed up with Matt Schwartz, a Londoner who is also known for co-writing Massive Attack's "Dissolved Girl. He co-wrote the song with him and produced it as well. And Robin Hannibal succeeded in adding an Afro-American element to the raw beauty of Sera Sue's acoustic ballads. Other songs on the album include "Alone," which was written the night Whitney Houston died in 2012, and "Sadness," which was co-written and produced in Jamaica with Troy Taylor, known for his work with Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin.
