¡Hokusai MangaVol.1
¡Katsushika Hokusai
Description
[Machine Translation] Japonism, which swept the Western world in a wave in the 19th century, was the wave crest of the "Hokusai Manga," an illustrated handbook published from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji era (1868-1912). The 15 volumes, totaling 970 pages and approximately 4,000 cuts, are filled with subjects, motifs, and drawing techniques that could be described as "all" of Katsushika Hokusai's works. This series is a remake of the original, with each volume containing a different theme: genre (Volume 1), nature (Volume 2), and the world of imagination (Volume 3). The origin of "MANGA," now a global language and synonymous with Cool Japan, can be found here.
