An art book that reveals how "Earwig and the Witch", the first full 3DCG Studio Ghibli film, was created. The book features a long interview with director Goro Miyazaki, covering topics on planning, characters, and story and location, along with a huge number of image boards, art boards, and character setting drawings. In addition, sketches and setting pictures by Katsuya Kondo, who was in charge of character design, are also introduced along with the interview. The detailed 3DCG that was completed through repeated trial and error is introduced along with the words of Yuhki Takeuchi, the key person in charge of background art. Until now, both Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata of Ghibli had basically stuck to their works drawn by hand. In this film, Hayao Miyazaki's son, Goro Miyazaki chose to use full 3DCG which made this a monumental work for Ghibli.
