Akebonoko hears someone mutter "I thought you were dead" as he stabs her. As if guided by something unseen, Akebonoko searches for her sister's secret and comes across four wind chimes in front of the gate of "Hayarabi" in Kyoto. A mysterious fate awaits Akebonoko when she visits the wind chimes in the story, a young man who bakes them in a kiln in the mountains of Yamashina.
