[Machine Translation] The "Glass Teahouse - Kouan" was presented as an architectural project at the 54th Venice Biennale International Art Exhibition Glasstress 2011, and was installed in 2015 on the main stage of Shogunzuka Seiryuden in the precincts of Seirenin Monzeki temple of Tendai sect in Kyoto. The Shogunzuka Seiryuden is dedicated to the national treasure Ao Fudo Myoo, one of Japan's three great immovable spirits, and the 220-meter-high dais offers a panoramic view of the city of Kyoto. By integrating that glass tea house with natural light, we attempted to see the essence of Japanese culture that exists within the senses.
