¡GRIMMS
Description
[Machine Translation] This is the third album released in 1976 by the Grimms, formed by Neil Innes of the Bonzo Dog Band, Andy Roberts of the Liverpool Scene, and Roger McGaw and John Gorman of the Scaffold. This is a masterpiece with brilliant songwriting by Inez and Roberts. The Grimms' version of "House of the Rising Sun," which was supposed to be a song about a sad prostitute but turned out to be a song about a fun-loving, bawdy guy, "Backbreaker," which has a funny imbalance between the Beach Boys-like chorus work and the lyrics about a ferocious girl, and the chorus song "Wombles Bashers" which reminds one of the Monty Python lumberjacks' song. The album contains 14 songs in a wide variety, including "Womble Bashers," a choral song reminiscent of Monty Python's lumberjack song, and the Grimes version of "Randy Luckwell," a classic from Inez's "Taking Off," which takes a turn for the serious. Includes lyrics and bilingual translation. Comes in a double-sided jacket.
