¡Stone Cold Soul The Complete Capitol Recordings
¡Jackie DeShannnon
Description
[Machine Translation] After the release of his 1970 album "To Be Free," Jackie DeShannon moved from Liberty/Imperial to Capitol, and this compilation contains all of the material from his Capitol days. The first album was produced by Chips Moman, known as a producer for Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson, and recorded at his American Sound Studio in Memphis from December 1970 to January of the following year, but the album was never released. The album includes 16 songs (only the single "Stone Cold Soul" was released at the time), and the entire "Songs" album, which she self-produced in April of the same year at Capitol Studios in Hollywood with Danny Kochmar, Russ Kankel, and others backing her. She is well known as a songwriter, and this album features not only her own songs, but also songs by Bob Dylan (Ray, Lady, Ray), George Harrison (Isn't It a Pity), Van Morrison (And It Stood Me), Dan Penn (Sweet Inspiration), Goffin & King's "Child of Mine," Emmitt Rose's "Live Until You Die," and many more. Includes 25 songs, including 5 never-before-released songs. Includes a bilingual translation of a detailed English commentary based on an interview with the singer.
