Description
[Machine Translation] JAGATARA is a legendary band with charismatic vocalist Akemi Edo, whose one-of-a-kind musicality incorporating punk, reggae, funk, Afrobeat, and other genres, as well as a unique linguistic sense that sharply shot at the times, unafraid of taboos, have given them an exceptional presence in the history of Japanese rock. On January 27, 2020, the 30th anniversary of Akemi's death in an accident, a major event will be held by the unit "JAGATARA2020" (Shibuya Club Quattro), featuring the surviving members and splendid guests. To commemorate this event, two classic early JAGATARA albums, which are now extremely hard to find, will be re-released on analog LP. Naked King", the first original album by JAGATARA, was released in 1987, five years after their previous album "Nanban Watarai", after a break due to Akemi's mental illness. The album consisted of four long songs, mainly funk numbers, and established a style called "Japanese Afrobeat.
