 Description
[Machine Translation] A Workplace" director Funabashi Jun approaches the dark side of modern society with a "documentary x drama" approach. The film questions why the recidivism rate of prisoners in Japan is 50% and the intolerance of modern society that lies behind it. This film is a drama inspired by the activities of an actual employment information magazine that assists in the recruitment of prisoners. The director is Funabashi Jun, who has worked on a wide range of films from dramas to documentaries. Like his previous work "A Workplace," which was based on an actual sexual harassment case and improvised with actors, Funabashi also serves as producer, and with almost the same cast and crew as his previous work, depicts the problems that lie in the reintegration of ex-convicts into society. --The editorial team of "CHANGE," a job information magazine for ex-convicts, provides job placement and rehabilitation support to those released from prison. One of the team, Fujimura ( 35 ), is in charge of Tanaka ( 34 ), who has been in prison for 10 years for murder by hit-and-run. Misumi ( 37 ), a former teacher who served two years in prison for indecent assault on a female child, disappeared as soon as he got a job, much to the dismay of the team. Mori ( 30 ), who was released from prison after serving two years for drug addiction, works for a cleaning company, but has a long-standing communication disorder that makes it difficult for him to fit into society. Witnessing former inmates struggling to reintegrate into society, Fujimura and his team propose drama therapy, an American form of psychotherapy using theater. After repeated rehearsals with the ex-convicts, they finally put on a stage production of "Tsumibito".... The reaction of the audience on the first day of the performance was completely unexpected.
