¡Elmar Oliveira (violin), Robert McDonald (piano)

 Description
[Machine Translation] Born and raised in the U.S., the son of Portuguese immigrants, Elmer Oliveira became the first American to win first prize at the 1978 Tchaikovsky Competition and the winner of the Naumburg International Violin Competition, making him a world-class violinist. In 2017, he co-founded the 1st Elmer Oliveira International Violin Competition in collaboration with Lynn University in Florida, USA, where he serves as Artistic Director. Oliveira boasts a wide repertoire ranging from Vivaldi to contemporary music, but here he includes technical pieces by the great violinists of the 20th century, such as Heifetz and Kreisler, who excelled at their craft. Here, he fully demonstrates his sharp technique and beautiful tone. The piano is by Robert McDonald, a virtuoso who is also known for accompanying Midori Goto. Produced by Marc Obol & Joanna Nicklenz. Recorded October 19-21, 1982
