¡Masters Brass Nagoya
Description
[Machine Translation] Masters Brass Nagoya/James Barnes "PHOENIX". Masters Brass Nagoya was born with the concept of "enjoying music" and pursuing "tradition and innovation"! This CD is a live recording of the first subscription concert held on April 10, 2016 at the Concert Hall of the Aichi Prefectural Arts Center. J. Barnes, well-known in Japan for his brass band works such as "Alvamar Overture" and "Prayer and Toccata", composed his fifth symphony in 2000 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Central Band. The entire composition is based on the legend of the phoenix, which is a reference to Japan's recovery from the devastation of the war. The banda of Meiden High School of Aichi Institute of Technology played a major role in the performance, and the overwhelmingly large ensemble filled the concert hall to the brim with emotion.
