¡LA FOLIE ALMAYER

Description
[Machine Translation] Olmeyer is a white man living in a riverside hut deep in Southeast Asia. He loves his daughter, born to a local woman, and enrolls her in a school for foreigners, but she rebels against her father and wanders aimlessly... Adapted from the first novel by Joseph Conrad, a British writer known for "The Darkest Depths," which was the basis for "Hell's Revelation" (1979). The story of madness and destruction unfolds in an abstracted setting in which neither the time nor the place is revealed. Despite the heavy themes of existentialism and patriarchy in the original novel, the film is fantastically beautiful, with the camera moving horizontally to capture the daughter as she freely roams the streets of Asia. Commentary leaflet and postcard enclosed.
