Description
[Machine Translation] Master filmmaker Chantal Akerman takes on a new challenge with this ensemble musical drama, a complete change of style from her previous works. Set in a colorful Parisian boutique district lined with hair salons and cafes, the film tells the love stories of the employees and customers who work there. Akerman's relentless gaze on love is skillfully balanced with a romantic sense of buoyancy as the characters in pastel-colored costumes sing and dance. The cast includes Delphine Seyrig, who starred in Akerman's definitive film "Jeanne Dielman," and Charles Denner, known for Francois Truffaut's "Love Diary. The scenario was written by Jean Gruaud, who is indispensable to Truffaut's films, and Pascal Bonizet, who worked on Andre Techine's "The Bronte Sisters" and Jacques Rivette's "The Beautiful Disputant". Commentary leaflet and postcards are included.
