Description
[Machine Translation] Underworld, mafia, strippers, nightclubs, crime. This is a unique film among Cassavetes' works with film noir-like themes. Borrowing from the framework of the popular gangster films of the time, Cassavetes juxtaposes his own image as an independent filmmaker with that of the dying protagonist, vividly depicting the anguish, conflict, and sorrow of his heart. --Kozmo is the owner of a strip club in a seedy L.A. neighborhood. After paying off his long-standing debts, he finally feels like a lord of the land, and takes his dancers on a grand tour of the city. However, when Kozmo is framed by the mafia at a poker game at the secret club, he is immediately saddled with a huge debt and forced to take on the assassination of the underworld boss, "Chinese Bookie"...
