[Machine Translation] In the midst of the unprecedented rugby boom, the legendary TV drama "Crying Teacher's 7 Year War: School Wars Blu-ray BOX" will be re-released as a quasi-record! The digital restoration master from film to HD telecine is used. The many famous scenes and emotions are vividly brought back to life! This story is a record of a group of passionate teachers who took up the fight against the devastation of a certain school. The story dramatizes the trust and love that drove a weak team, completely unknown in the world of high school rugby, through the miracle of a team that fostered a healthy spirit out of devastation and won the national championship in just a few years. The story is told through the lives of Kenji Takizawa ( Shinji Yamashita ), a passionate teacher, his devoted wife Setsuko ( Nana Okada ), Daisuke Ohki ( Yuki Matsumura ), who was feared as the baddest man in Kawahama, Hiroshi Okudera ( Hirokazu Takano ), aka Aesop who fell ill in the middle of his career, Mitsuo Morita ( Yasuo Miyata ), who was on a losing team and devoted himself to rugby, and Tonda Mitsuo, who is in love with Mitsuo and is determined to make him a successful player. Keiko Tomita (Kazue Ito), who remains in love with Mitsuo; Daisaburo Shimoda (Tatsuo Umemiya), the owner of the Chinese restaurant "Shinraku", and his wife Yuko (Akiko Wada); Kayo Yamazaki (Yoshimi Iwasaki), the rugby club manager; and the other characters, all of whom have different circumstances and yet are trying hard to live. The film also features many famous quotes and scenes, such as the historic scene in the waiting room after the team's 109-0 defeat. The cathartic opening of the film, narrated by Takayuki Akutagawa and sung by Miki Asakura in the song "Hero. School Wars" is a milestone in the history of adolescent dramas, with a perfect mix of the charm of the characters, the great performances of the actors, the script, the direction, and the music. Commentary booklet (*the first commentary book) is enclosed. Comes with outer box. This Blu-ray contains the original 4:3 size of the original broadcast footage, with black strips added on both sides, in 16:9 size.
