 Description
[Machine Translation] This is a documentary film that describes the life of Patti Schmel, a former member of Hole, a band led by Courtney Love, and a rare female drummer who survived the American alternative rock scene in the 90's. She was born in Washington State, USA, and started playing in bands in the mid-80's. She was a member of Hole, which led the grunge scene with NIRVANA, from 1992 to 1998. She was a member of Hole, which led the grunge scene along with Nirvana, from 1992 to 1998. However, her life was filled with hardships such as alcoholism, drug addiction, and homosexuality that started when she was around 12 years old, as well as life on the streets. The film looks back on Patti's life from the bottom to the top, and then to the bottom, using a vast amount of home video footage that she had accumulated. The rare footage includes never-before-seen footage of Patti and Kurt and Courtney, which only Patti, who had a very close relationship with Kurt and Courtney, could have captured, as well as footage of Courtney performing "Stinking of You," an unreleased song co-written by Kurt and Courtney, which is made public for the first time on this film, and Kurt filming the performance. The film also includes the truth behind Patti's expulsion from the band and a shocking confession about a personal aspect of Patti's life that she would normally not want others to know about. It is a raw and deeply shocking human document that is completely different from a documentary film that merely traces the facts. This is a valuable work that teaches us the meaning of "living" and "dying" in the American alternative scene of the 1990s, as well as the turbulent life of Patti, who was always living side by side with life and death.
