Description
Along with "The Seven Samurai" (which was remade as "The Magnificent Seven"), and "The Hidden Fortress" (which inspired George Lucas when he made "Star Wars"), "Yojimbo" is considered one of director Akira Kurosawa's best films. The film was remade several times in different styles (most notably as the Sergio Leone/Clint Eastwood remake "A Fistful of Dollars" of course). This action-packed anime series is freely based on "Yojimbo" as the title suggests, putting it in a modern setting, with cool and wild characters that translate the world of Kurosawa into a new kind of language. This volume contains episodes 1 through 5. Also available on VHS (w/different episode numbers) and on "Initial Pressing Limited" edition (while supply lasts).
