¡Saho Terao

 Description
[Machine Translation] This is the first new album by Saho Terao in about two years, starting with the song "Some of my friends have died" and a fanfare of light and jazzy trumpet music. The album will be released in the fall of 2024, and will feature 10 songs, including the first single "Ai no Arika" and the second single "Shu Shain", which will be the first song on the album. About a year has passed since we returned to our normal lives after the three-year-long Corona Disaster. In the name of social distance, each and every one of us has gone through the most difficult time that we have ever faced in the past, and while it seems that we have finally recovered our daily lives, if we look outside, wars and disasters continue unceasingly, and we often feel that we are living in a completely different parallel world from the one we lived in before the pandemic. Often, we feel as if we are living in a completely different parallel world. What is important at times like this is to confirm our current location through casual chats with those close to us. In this work, too, the dialogue between Saho Terao and musicians who support Japanese music, such as Mahitu the Peepo (E.Guitar), Takashi Ueno of the Tenniscoats (Sax), Santa Takahashi (Trumpet), Masatomo Utajima (Veena), Tatsuro Kondo (Harmonica), Masashi Sekiguchi (Cello), Yuka Yoshino (Harp), etc., is a good example. The dialogue with these musicians, who are the backbone of Japanese music, is sublimated into music with the acceleration of their sorrow, anger, and sometimes joy. The preceding single, "Ai no arika" (Where is love?), spins a unique groove full of originality while maintaining a slow tempo, with Reizaburo Hachichi (drums), who is also a member of "Wakarete in winter", Wataru Iga (bass), and Saho Terao's piano and organ. Terao's gentle vocals are layered on top of the piano and organ, and it is as if the form of love that everyone is searching for in the present day suddenly appears in a moment while listening to this song. The despair that exists in people who live their lives, shaken by the times, can be turned into hope as long as they are alive, as in the songs "Shu-Sha-In" and "Good Evening, Mr. Moon" (lyrics and music by Ryo Kagawa). I believe that this sense of despair exists even in those of us who live in the modern age. The "casual chat" with Saho Terao, which will surely make you feel this way, will take the form of a tour that will be held throughout Japan and East Asia after the release of the album. Why don't you join us on a journey to find the whereabouts of love? We will see you there and there, in music and in live performance.
