Incense Music" is a new compilation series featuring music selected and supervised by Toru Hashimoto, artwork by Jiro Fujita, and mastered by Calm, a top Japanese jazz, chill-out, and Balearic artist who is also highly regarded overseas. The second CD in the series, "Incense Music for Living Room," will be released on June 26, 2024. The CD will feature a selection of songs that blend ambient, jazz, chillout, Balearica, post-classical, jazzy and mellow beats for a peaceful living space based on the theme of "the marriage of fragrance and music" by Toru Hashimoto, as well as new recordings by artists he trusts (including Calm's Holger Schukai's cover of "Persian Love", Yoshiharu Takeda's cover of Bobby Hutcherson's "Montara", and a new track arranged by haruka nakamura from pianist Noriko Kisei's rendition of the classic "I Miss You"), as well as a beautiful cover illustrated by Jiro Fujita. The beautiful cover, newly drawn by Jiro Fujita, and Calm's mastery of the sound image make for a superb compilation that is like "sonic aromatherapy".
