 Description
[Machine Translation] In 2019, King Crimson will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its debut, and this 50th anniversary project will introduce classic and rare recordings from The King Crimson Collector's Club, which has a vast collection of recordings from its debut in 1969 to the present day! The origin of King Crimson's "Sun and Fear". The classic sound sources are back! After the US tour by Islands Crimson in 1972, Crimson broke up. However, Robert Fripp formed a new King Crimson in the summer of the same year with John Wetton, Bill Bruford, David Cross, and Jamie Muir, and started rehearsals. This source is a recording of the first Sun and Shiver Crimson show. Since they had just started rehearsals, all the songs on the "Sun and Shiver" album were arranged in working versions, which were different from those on the album. The long-awaited reissue of the album, which was previously released as a stand-alone box set, is now out of print. (The performance of the first version ("Sun and Fear Part 1") has many highlights, such as the coda part that was not completed, and the arpeggio part of "Fallen Angel" that appears in the improvisation that develops from the first version ("Easy Money") without Wetton's impressive scat. The improvisation part, one of Crimson's distinctive features, was in full swing from the beginning! The longest live performance of over 44 minutes ("ZOOM ZOOM") was recorded at Central Park in New York City on July 1, 1974, leading up to the band's final show. Although the sound quality is not as good as the official quality due to the original audience tape recording, it is highly valuable as a historically important source!
