Veriditas
Helios
Description
[Machine Translation] Keith Kenniff's breathtakingly beautiful and delicately spun, beatless ambient electronica. The title of Helios' sixth full-length album, "Veriditas," comes from the 12th century philosopher Hildegard von Bingen's idea of the "healing power of nature," named after the Latin words for "green" and "truth. It is a very different and unique landscape in the work of Helios. While his previous compositions are built on a traditional structure, the sound is, as he says, "more static and emotional," with radiant synth tones that softly overlap like sketches, sometimes clear, at other times indistinct. The obscurity of the music is as unsettling as Bose of Canada, and creates a sense of comfort.
