Set in a town against the backdrop of the beautiful Japanese Alps, the film depicts the agony of adolescence and a little bitter pure love between young teachers and their students. Starring the youthful duo of Sayuri Yoshinaga and Mitsuo Hamada. Sadako (Sayuri Yoshinaga), the daughter of a pawnbroker, is a senior in high school. One day after school, her art teacher Mr. Takei (Hiroyuki Nagato) asks her to post a postcard in the mailbox. On her way home with Ms. Murao ( Izumi Ashikawa ), a female teacher whom Sadako respects, Sadako reads Mr. Takei's postcard. The postcard includes an explanation of a daytime discussion between Takei-sensei and Murao-sensei about teaching methods, and the comment, "Murao is the most beautiful woman in the world. Sadako, seeing the indignant expression on Mr. Murao's face, recalls a high school student named Tamura (Hamada Mitsuo) whom she had met by chance on a mountain climbing trip a month earlier....
