Description
[Machine Translation] [Super Hollywood Price: Memories of the 50's and 80's] A complete film adaptation of Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer Prize-winning play of the same title by master director Elia Kazan. The story follows Blanche, a woman who comes to New Orleans to visit her sister Stella, but her dark past is revealed by her sister's husband Stanley, who hates her, and she becomes mentally ill. Vivian Leigh gives an impassioned performance as Blanche, a woman with a very different demeanor from Scarlett in "Gone with the Wind" (1939). The film won the 1951 Academy Awards for Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Art Direction and Set Design. This original version restores the sexuality, dialogue, etc. that were cut from the film when it was first released. [Limited manufacturer's shipping period: September 23-October 22, 2004].
Original Release Year: 1951
