 Description
Limited priced-down release (sold from July 18 through December 20, 2001.) As a Western film aficionado, I must say this is one of THE best films ever made by the beings of this planet. The film is unpredictable all the way through in such an exquisite way that it keeps you guessing what'll happen next, and the way the ending unfolds so flawlessly is a marvel. I bet in a million years nobody could come up with a better ending for the film than this one. In addition to Maestro Leone's genius and the great presences of both Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef, what makes this film even greater than it already is are two things: Ennio Morricone's score, and the acting from Eli Wallach as Tuco (The Ugly). The film has been so influential that even American westerns were influenced by it, and come to think of it, Mad Max 2/The Road Warrior (the best of the Mad Max films) is virtually a remake of this and the other Man-with-no-name films. The Gyro Captain is essentially Tuco with slightly better moral virtues, and if you trade horses with those heavy duty muscle cars...
