¡Mountain Songs
¡Yoshio Makimoto & Masahiro Ojiri

 Description
[Machine Translation] Yoshio Makimoto on flute and Masahiro Ojiri on guitar, who brought out the world of Toru Takemitsu in their previous work "And to the Sea...", have now recorded the entirety of Robert Beiser's "Mountain Songs" for this album. Even though they have moved from the sea to the mountains and from Japan to the U.S., the two performers' breathtaking ensembles allow the audience to feel the breath of nature. The album also includes a string trio in G minor with an original arrangement by Mr. Ojiri of the Russian folk song "What Saddened You of Mine" and the "Dance of the Polovets" from the opera "Prince Igor" by Alexandre Borodin, also famous for his "Dance of the Dagtans". The album is a gem of a collection of works that are well worth listening to.
