Description
[Machine Translation] The famous song that everyone has heard will be reborn on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II. The late composer Naohiko Terashima first visited Okinawa in 1967, when the Vietnam War was raging and anti-war protests were being heard around the world, and wrote the lyrics to the song about the tragedy of the Battle of Okinawa. Since then, the song has been sung by many singers and loved by many people throughout the ages. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, and for the first time, the copyright holder of the original song, who has carefully preserved the song, has agreed to publish a translated version in Uchinaaguchi, the dialect of Okinawa, the original landscape depicted in the song "Sato Uguki Hata". This first Uchinaaguchi version was sung by Ayano Uema, who has Okinawan roots but now lives and works in Tokyo. She worked with sound producer Toshiyuki Omori to produce the song. The CD was released on June 23, the 70th anniversary of the end of the organized fighting in the Battle of Okinawa, by the Green Planet Project, LLC.
