¡Mozart: Requiem in D minor K.626
¡Bruno Walter(conductor), New York Philharmonic, Westminster Choir

 Description
[Machine Translation] Mozart's Requiem by Walter and the New York Philharmonic, recorded to commemorate the bicentennial of Mozart's birth, is still one of the most important and popular performances of the piece today, albeit in monaural. Once again, the reissue is on 2-track, 38-centimeter open-reel tape, and the sound reproduction is absolutely astonishing. The sound image comes out in front of the listener, and the breadth of sound from front to back, left to right, and sky to earth is overwhelming. Even the raspy sound of the low strings was vividly audible. According to the book "Masterful Conductor Walter's Great Discs and Bad Discs" written by Isayoshi Uno (Kodansha + alpha bunko/out of print), "there are some complaints that it lacks some rawness (dirtiness)," but this CD will probably eliminate such complaints. Also, there are known valuable photographs taken during this recording session, but most LPs and CDs no longer feature them. This is a little sad, so we have restored them in this manual. Please note that this CD does not have a bilingual translation. Please note that this CD does not include a bilingual translation. ( Naoya Hirabayashi )
