Description
Naomi is a teenage girl with dyed orange-yellow hair, fake tan, who loves going clubbing and partying with her friends but hates school (i.e. a normal teenager.) One day, her mother takes off with her new lover, and devastated by this, her father sends her off to stay and work at his sister's coutry inn. However, her aunt soon finds out that the girl is not exactly cut out for customer service tasks, and suggests her to help out the old neighbor lady named Mrs. Koide in whose house Naomi used to play as a little kid. Though the old lady is starting to suffer from Alzheimer's, the two hit it off somehow, largely because of Mrs. Koide's eccentric and direct manner, and because she has interesting stories to tell about her youth as an actress... Unlike most Japanese films, the film is set against the backdrop of Japan's rural area, where the director of photography makes best use of the breathtaking landscapes.
