 Description
[Machine Translation] Goro Nakagawa, a folk singer who gained attention in the late 60's for his mass-produced protest songs, released his first solo album in 1969, following a split album with Rokubun Sen! This album is a collection of protest songs with a strong message injected throughout the album. The songs, which are directly delivered in words, penetrate with a power that transcends time. In addition to Goro Nakagawa's own lyrics, the album includes a poem by Kiyoshi Yamauchi and a song from a collection of memorial poems by Michiko Kaba, a victim of the 1960 Security Treaty. In particular, five of Kiyoshi Yamauchi's poems are featured, and their vivid anti-war messages play an important role in this album. The album also includes songs translated by Pete Seeger and Eric Anderson, who himself was greatly influenced by the poems, such as "Muddy to the Waist" and "The Frog, That Time. Many of the songs, including "Killer Blues," a rock number backed by Jax, became part of the Folk Guerrilla repertoire. Some of the songs were recorded live, and have value as a document of the "political season" of the era. Finally, the long-awaited reissue of the album with 5 valuable bonus tracks is now available! Comes with commentary and in paper jacket.
