Description
[Machine Translation] Austrian-born bass singer Robert Holzer teaches lieder and oratorio at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz, while performing as an opera singer worldwide. He has given a wide variety of concerts and recordings over the years with pianist Thomas Korple. Their latest work reflects "reflections on the literary form and musical treatment of the ballad," and offers a close listen to the medieval narrative poems as they are expressed in the undulating music of the Romantic composers. The album opens and closes with Hardy-Guardy's rustic-toned performance, which draws the listener into the medieval story.
