¡Blagoje Bersa: Complete Piano Works Vol.1
¡Goran Filipec
Description
[Machine Translation] Belsa was a Croatian composer active in the late Romantic period. Unfortunately, his existence is almost forgotten, but his works, which he studied under Robert Fuchs at the composition department of the Vienna Conservatory, are filled with colorful sounds reminiscent of Mahler and Richard Strauss, and some of his chamber music and songs are still performed today. He also composed a number of piano pieces, many of which are lyrical works with a variety of expressions, and are full of ingenious melodies, sometimes using church melodies, in a clean form. The Croatian pianist Goran Filipec, who showed his brilliant technique in Liszt's Paganini Exercises, plays them with exceptional affection.
