Description
Blu-ray release from the film "Watashi wa Kai ni Naritai (I Want to Be A Shellfish)" starring Masahiro Nakai (SMAP) and Yukie Nakama. Based on the story of the same titled TV drama in 1958, written by Shinobu Hashimoto of Akira Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai" fame. The film directed by Katsuo Fukusawa ("Karei naru Ichizoku"). Music composed by Jo Hisaishi renowned for Ghibli series and Takeshi Kitano's films, and theme song "Hana no Nioi" written and sung by Mr. Children. The story depicts misery of the war through extreme hardship of the man, who is arrested for war-crime charges after coming back from the Pacific War and finally he is sentenced to the gallows. . . Special collector's edition includes two bonus discs (DVD) with making-of footage, interview with the cast, off shot, and documentary of the promotion. Also includes special boooklet and postcards. *The DVD disc is encoded for region 2 (Japan, Europe, and Middle East), and no subtitles are included.
