Based on Yoshikazu Takeuchi's novel of the same title, "Perfect Blue" is a genuine psychological suspense anime. This is the first work directed by Satoshi Kon of "Paprika", "Millennium Actress", and "Tokyo Godfathers" fame. The original character design is by manga artist Hisashi Eguchi. Plot: Mima, who left an idol group and started working as a rookie actress, cannot hide her embarrassment at the extreme gravure and TV drama jobs that come her way against her will.
