Description
[Machine Translation] The checkered life of Babe Ruth, as portrayed by master director Arthur Hiller. --1902, Baltimore. Zidge, a seven year old white boy, is brought by his father to St. Mary's Reformatory for Boys. He is often bullied by his peers because of his fat frame, but a friar discovers that he has a talent for baseball. He eventually made the facility's baseball team, and was eventually recruited by the local Orioles, who in turn recruited him to join the Red Sox. John Goodman (Beyond the Sea) gives an impassioned performance as the man who led a wild life. The film tells the story of his glorious glory, including the episode in which he hit a home run for a sick boy, as well as the fact that he suffered the trauma of being abandoned by his parents. This is a heart-wrenching drama that brings to light the light and shade of one hero.
