Description
[Machine Translation] This is a poem about a young man's journey to independence away from the troublesome relationships of his native land. Director Kazuo Kuroki's direction of Takehiro Nakajima's autobiographical screenplay with a solid portrayal of a human being is an excellent work that has received more acclaim than "Ryoma Assassination". Keiko Takeshita's freshness in playing the role of the woman of her dreams and Yoshio Harada's fine performance as the rough childhood friend of the master's son shine through. --In Tosa in the early 1950s, 20-year-old Shinao works at a credit union and dreams of one day becoming a scenario writer. He secretly loves his childhood friend Ryoko, but she has a lover... The film depicts the departure of a young man in agony, tied to his hometown, dreaming of the festival of life, with obscene and humanistic episodes of the people around him. Yoshio Harada's final scene, "Banzai," is a famous scene that symbolizes this film. The film was ranked No. 2 in the Kinema Junpo Best Ten.
