in the vicinity of the ranch. One day, Katie discovers a wild horse near the ranch and decides to tame it. The fathers are alarmed that the mustang will ruin the horses on the ranch, so they capture the horse and quarantine it on the ranch. Katie names the mustang "Flicka," which means "pretty daughter," and begins secretly training her, but when her father finds out, he sells Flicka to a rodeo. This incident puts Katie at odds with her father, and the rift that develops between the two eventually leads to a major incident...
